The government has formed a rapid response mechanism to strengthen industrial and commercial security.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has formed the necessary structure and rapid response mechanism to strengthen industrial and commercial security. The 100 agendas related to governance reform approved by the Council of Ministers meeting on Chaitra 13 included the issue of establishing the necessary structure and rapid response mechanism to strengthen industrial and commercial security.
Ananda Kafle, spokesperson for the Ministry of Home Affairs, said that the mechanism was formed and implemented through a secretary-level decision on Baisakh 14. The ministry stated that the mechanism has been formed to prevent possible incidents by analyzing the situation of private enterprises, business continuity and investor confidence, industrial and commercial security, and to respond immediately if an incident occurs. According to the approved mechanism, a District Industrial and Commercial Security Coordination Committee will be established at the district level to strengthen industrial and commercial security.
The mechanism will be led by the Chief District Officer and will include the local chief of the army, the chief of the police, the armed forces, the national investigation department, the assistant district officer (member secretary), the district president of the private sector business organization or his designated representative. The committee has been arranged to invite the heads or representatives of other bodies and individuals as needed.
The mechanism will analyze the industrial and commercial security situation at the district level and prepare and implement an action plan, update the action plan as needed and implement it. Similarly, it is mentioned that the data of industries, factories and businesses in the district will be collected and updated, the location of industrial areas and other industries in the district and the distance and time between security agencies will be determined and records will be updated, and the operators/managers of the industries concerned will be encouraged to use modern technology and equipment to monitor industrial security around the clock.
Arrangements will be made to operate the hotline in the District Emergency Operation Center in each district as an industrial security hotline 24 hours a day. It is also mentioned that continuous security patrols will be deployed on highways and strategic routes for the uninterrupted supply of goods and services and the operation of services, and a special search campaign will be conducted to return goods looted from industrial and commercial establishments during the protests.
The committee meeting will be held at least once a month. Mechanism for quick response: A security contact person will be arranged in the nearest security unit for the security of industries and businesses. The response plan also mentions that a quick response team will be arranged in the security agencies so that they can be mobilized immediately in view of possible incidents.
It is also mentioned that criminal incidents in industries and businesses will be registered immediately and those involved in the incidents will be taken into custody and investigated according to the law, and regular patrols will be conducted by security agencies keeping in mind industrial and commercial security. Home Spokesperson Kafle said that this mechanism will be effective for a safe and orderly business environment.
