Senior Director Hikmat Singh Ayer has been appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nepal Tourism Board. 

As per the decision taken by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on Monday, he has been given the responsibility of performing his duties as the head of the office.

After the government issued an ordinance, the then CEO of the board, Deepak Raj Joshi, was relieved of his post. Due to which the leadership position was vacant. The board has stated in a statement that Ayer has been given the responsibility of acting CEO for the time being based on seniority to fill the same vacancy.

Ayer has been working in the board for the past 26 years. As per the circular issued by the ministry, Ayer will conduct the daily administration, policy implementation, program coordination and tourism promotion related activities of the board. In addition, he has been given the responsibility of continuing the management so that the regular work of the board is not disrupted.
