The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has organized a one-day intensive technical workshop on aviation safety through flight data monitoring and analysis for the first time in Nepal. This is the first such program in Nepal that focuses on system implementation, which is said to have laid a new foundation for modernizing aviation safety.

The workshop was organized at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering under the Pulchowk Campus. About 65 participants participated in the program, including airline companies, regulatory bodies, academics, and government officials.

The program focused on identifying potential risks and minimizing air accidents through analysis of flight data. Experts said that the flight data monitoring system will help make safety more effective by predicting risks, moving away from the traditional reactive system.

According to Mukesh Dangol, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, the effective implementation of the flight data monitoring system will help take aviation safety to new heights. Data-based decision-making systems can identify potential risks and minimize accidents.

The technical leadership of the workshop was provided by Dr. Sudip Bhattarai, Head of Department, Pulchowk Campus. In addition, Himalaya Airlines presented its practical experience and informed about successful practices of flight risk identification and international standards.

Representatives of various air service companies also shared the status and experience of flight data monitoring implementation in their organizations. The workshop discussed in detail the challenges seen in the implementation of flight data monitoring, possible solutions, and measures that can be applied in the context of Nepal.

Joint Secretary Dangol said that the workshop has made a significant contribution towards making Nepal's aviation safety modern, technology-friendly, and internationally competitive. If the flight data monitoring system is effectively implemented in the coming days, Nepal's skies are expected to become safer and more reliable.
