A crusher industry has been found operating without registration and permission on the banks of the Chepe River in Rainas Municipality-6, Lamjung.

During the monitoring conducted by the District Monitoring Committee on Wednesday, it was found that they were operating the crusher industry without registering with the registering body in the district and without obtaining permission from the body that requires permission.

There are 3 crusher industries with different names in operation around Chepeghat in Rainas Municipality-6, Syauli. The operators registered the company with the company registrar's office for joint investment but were found to be operating without registering the industry with the concerned body and without obtaining permission, said Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Khanal.

'All three crusher industries with different names that we monitored were found to be operating without registration and without obtaining permission. If they have been registered and have obtained permission, we have asked them to come with proof immediately, otherwise they will be closed,' he said. According to him, the crusher industries in operation are not within the standards.

The district-level monitoring committee led by District Coordination Committee Chief Purna Bahadur Gurung had monitored three crusher industries, namely Agro Diamond Construction Pvt. Ltd., Mangalmarg Construction and Crusher Pvt. Ltd. and Champawati Gravel, Stone and Sand Processing Center. The monitoring committee has stated that although the operators of the industries were called to the industry site during the monitoring, some of the operators did not come.

The crusher industry was monitored by the District Police Office Chief DSP Jitendra Kumar Basnet, Armed Forces DSP Development Officer, Divisional Forest Officer Deepak Prasad Pandit, Chief Fund Controller Bhavaraj Joshi, District Coordination Officer Mahesh Subedi, Rainas Municipality Chief Administrative Officer Shivaraj Regmi, Engineer and others.

According to District Coordination Officer Mahesh Subedi, the monitoring was carried out to see whether the standards set by the Government of Nepal's Standards for Excavation, Sale and Management of Stone, Ballast and Sand, 2077 BS were met. "Since there are complaints in the crusher industry, we have instructed the district monitoring committee to submit industry registration and renewal, licenses and other documents," he said. According to him, the committee will proceed with the necessary process after the crusher industry submits the necessary documents to the committee.

According to the committee, it has been seen that Rainas Municipality gave permission to Agro Diamond Construction Pvt. Ltd. to install a mobile crusher in 2076 BS. Crusher industries operating near the river have been illegally excavating and exploiting stones, gravel and sand from the Chepe Khola. Those industries have not been operating for almost a month. According to the Procedures and Standards for Permission, Registration and Regulation of Crusher Industries, 2077, it is mentioned that the crusher industry should be 500 meters away from highways, rivers or river banks, 2 kilometers away from educational institutions, health institutions, places of religious, cultural, archaeological importance and security agencies. 500 meters away from a concrete bridge, 2 kilometers away from the international border, forests and parks or reservations, dense settlements, 200 meters away from high-tension lines, 500 meters away from historical lakes, ponds, reservoirs and ponds and 500 meters away from Chure The government allows the establishment or operation of crusher industries only 1,500 meters away from the foot of the mountain.
