The annual national accounts estimate report released by the National Statistics Office on Tuesday has projected the country's economic growth rate at basic prices for the fiscal year 2082/83 at 3.65 percent. This is lower than the government's economic growth target for this year. The government has set a target of 6 percent economic growth for the current fiscal year. The office has released the national accounts data based on actual data for the first nine months of the current fiscal year (last Chaitra) and estimated data for the next three months (Baishakh to Asar). The office estimates that Nepal's economic growth rate at consumer prices will be 3.85 percent this year.
