An agreement has been reached between the Security Printing Center and the Department of Transport Management to print 1.7 million licenses in the second lot out of the 2.9 million old driving licenses. On Friday, Devraj Dhungana, Executive Director of the Security Printing Center, and Rajiv Pokharel, Director General of the Department, signed the agreement. According to the agreement, the licenses will be printed by mid-Ashar, said Keshav Khatiwada, Director of the Department.
‘Earlier, an agreement was reached to print 1.2 million licenses, according to which 700,000 licenses have already been printed. From Wednesday, licenses are being printed within 24 hours of the service recipients who pass the trial and pay revenue for renewal,’ he said. ‘In this way, the licenses printed by the Security Printing Center are being sent to the relevant transport management offices through post.’ There are 42 such offices across the country.
Service recipients are forced to carry a receipt for paying revenue for renewal and new licenses since 2022.
