As preparations are underway for the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, industrialists and businessmen from the east have urged the government to improve the tax structure, customs system and policy complexity.
In a discussion and interaction program organized by the Morang Industry and Trade Association on Tuesday, the private sector clearly outlined its problems and urged it to bring a solution-oriented budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.
In the program, industrialists and businessmen particularly pointed out issues such as high tax rates, cumbersome administrative procedures, obstacles in import and export, and lack of an investment-friendly environment as major challenges. They said that a policy to encourage production-oriented industries, simplify the tax system, and make the customs process transparent and easy is necessary.
The concept paper presented by the association's president Anupam Rathi included not only the problems faced by the private sector, but also concrete proposals for their solutions. In the process, he handed over a suggestion paper to Finance Secretary Dr. Ghanshyam Upadhyay and emphasized that the upcoming budget should be presented in a way that boosts the morale of industry and business. Speaking at the event, Finance Secretary Upadhyay pledged to take the suggestions of the private sector seriously and incorporate them in the upcoming budget as much as possible.
