Sagar Dhakal has announced his candidacy for the position of central member from the commodity side in the upcoming election of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Dhakal, the president of the Nepal Stock Brokers Association, has announced his candidacy for the position of central executive member from the group of commodity vice-president Naresh Lal Shrestha.
While announcing his candidacy, he said that he has filed his candidacy for the position of commodity member to advocate for the country's economic reform and business-friendly policymaking within the federation. 'Currently, various commodity members are facing many legal and practical problems,' he said while announcing his candidacy, 'I have filed my candidacy for the position of central member to debate, advocate and lobby the government for the solution of the problems of commodity associations within the federation.'
He also informed that more than 7.2 million investors are associated with the capital market of Nepal and that he will take the initiative to strongly advance the capital market as the backbone of the future economy. "The market cap of Nepal's capital market is around 500 billion, now it should not be limited to Nepal's capital market but should be promoted as a mirror of the entire economy," he said. "In order to promote all investors and Nepal's capital market, I have announced my candidacy for the central member position on behalf of the organization in the upcoming elections of the Federation."
Chairman Dhakal, who has been associated with Nepal's capital market for about two years, is associated with the capital market as well as hydropower, hotels, tourism, agriculture and other sectors.
