The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security has decided to open the registration for health screening of workers going for foreign employment by recognized health institutions.

On 17 Chaitra, Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Deepak Kumar Sah decided that only government-approved or government-owned health institutions will be allowed to register for health screening of workers going for foreign employment.

The ministry has stated that it has initiated the necessary process for registration. Currently, health screening of workers is being conducted by 250 health institutions and government hospitals. The ministry is going to increase the number.

Only workers who pass the test conducted by the listed health institutions are eligible for foreign employment.

The main condition for destination countries is that quality health screening of workers taken from source countries, including Nepal, should be carried out.

For this, major destination countries have been issuing 'employment visas' by only accepting health reports tested by listed health institutions that have met their country's health standards (SOPs).
