Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has said that now the private sector will not have to pay bribes, stand in line at work and be detained without reason. In a meeting with representatives of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry on Monday, Finance Minister Wagle urged the government to expand investment and create employment opportunities with confidence as it is private sector-friendly.
‘I have not come to take bribes, nor will I give them to anyone. I have come to turn the economy around and take the country to a new speed,’ he said, ‘The private sector will no longer suffer, we are your fellow passengers. Now there will be no need to pay bribes, stand in line, and people in the private sector will not be detained without reason.’
Finance Minister Wagle also said that the government will impose financial fines in cases of financial dishonesty by the private sector. Therefore, he said that in cases of wrongdoing, industrialists and businessmen will be fined financially but will not be detained.
The Finance Minister said that the government expects that by becoming a friend and fellow passenger of the state in this way, there will be no dishonesty from the private sector either. "If someone commits dishonesty intentionally and deliberately, the government will be ruthless," said Finance Minister Wagle.
