The Bagmati Province government has collected 36.29 percent of the annual target, or 24.49 billion two hundred and eighty-seven thousand rupees, in the first eight months of the current fiscal year 2082/83.

The government had set a target of collecting 30.89 billion 11.89 billion rupees in revenue from Shrawan to Falgun of the fiscal year 2082/83. Suraj Poudel, an officer at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Planning and Development of the provincial government, informed that 45.13 percent, or 13.93 billion 97.15 million rupees, has been collected in revenue compared to this target.

According to him, the target of collecting 7.7 billion rupees in revenue from real estate registration in the current fiscal year 2082/83 was 2.56 billion 2 lakh 4 thousand rupees.

Similarly, the provincial government has collected 4.44 billion 93 million 40 thousand out of the estimated 8.25 billion 2082/83 under the vehicle tax heading under vehicle inspection, route permit, driver's license distribution and renewal.

Similarly, the provincial government has estimated to receive 8.79 billion 86 million 67 thousand for value-added tax from distribution, but 5.46 billion 465 million 17 thousand have been collected by that period. The ministry has stated that 1.75 billion 336 thousand have been received out of the estimated 4.379 million 9 thousand for excise tax.

Similarly, under the equalization grant received from the federal government, 53.60 percent or 7.94 billion 27 million 56 thousand have been received within 8 months, Officer Poudel said.

Similarly, the ministry has stated that the revenue collected from the internal sources of the provincial government in the current fiscal year 2082/83 is estimated to be 4.77 billion 7.4 million 25 thousand, of which 52.35 percent of the target, or 2.5 billion 12 million 18 thousand, has been received in 8 months.

He said that the expected revenue collection could not be achieved due to the decrease in real estate and new vehicle purchase and sale transactions due to financial liquidity, the damage caused to various revenue collection bodies of the provincial government during the Gen-G agitation on 23 and 24 Bhadra, etc.
