The 27th Flora Expo, which began in Kathmandu four days ago, generated a turnover of Rs. 1.25 crore.
The expo organized by the Floriculture Association was visited by a total of 60,700 people and a turnover of Rs 12.26 million was generated, according to the organizers.
Accordingly, 9,500 people visited on the first day. The association reported a turnover of Rs 2.15 million.
On the second day, 17,500 visitors participated, generating a turnover of Rs 2.95 million, and on the third day, 21,500 visitors visited the fair, generating a turnover of Rs 3.98 million, according to the association. On the last day, Sunday, 12,200 visitors visited the fair, generating a turnover of Rs 3.18 million.
The fair, which was held for four days at Bhrikuti Mandap, saw a significant increase in visitor participation and turnover, according to Ram Bahadur Tamang (Sunil), the fair coordinator and senior vice president of the Floriculture Association Nepal.
There were a total of 83 stalls at the fair, including 65 commercial, 11 official, 2 competitive, 2 food, 1 landscape, 1 selfie and a BYD EV car. Coordinator Tamang said that the flowers and plants produced by the participating entrepreneurs were also included in the competition in various categories.
The association said that currently, more than 8.83 billion rupees have been invested in the flower business, which is spread over an area of 270 hectares in 52 districts across the country, and more than 53,500 people have been directly and indirectly employed.
