Ravi Singh, president of the Federation of Nepal Construction Entrepreneurs, has said that the wages of workers working in the construction sector can be up to 50,000. Singh said that there is an acute shortage of workers in the construction sector in Nepal and that for those who want to enter this sector, there are good opportunities and wages.
The wages of workers working on bridges alone are up to 50,000 per month. Currently, most of the bridge workers are Indians. They take billions of rupees to India in this way.
According to Singh, there are about 700,000 Indians in the construction sector alone in Nepal. He said that the government has not been able to prepare the necessary manpower for construction-related work, so the construction sector is dominated by Indian workers.
‘A new government is being formed. The government that will be formed now must make the economy dynamic. For that, laws and regulations must now be made enforceable. Now an environment must be created for Nepali brothers to work in Nepal. At least 700,000 Indian workers are currently in Nepal. They must be replaced,’ he said.
Although the government has announced 100 days of employment through the Prime Minister's Employment Program, Singh says that it is limited to paper. According to him, now it is necessary for the next government to implement practical education and create an environment for labor in Nepal.
