Kathmandu - Qatar Airways has announced a limited flight schedule, stating that it will operate flights to a few dozen international destinations, including Nepal, on March 17 and 18 (Tuesday and Wednesday).
This schedule also includes flights between Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu) and Doha for Nepalese passengers. After the airstrikes in Iran over 16 days ago, regular flights to Gulf destinations including Qatar were suspended around the world.
According to the schedule released by the company, flights will be operated from Doha to Kathmandu and from Kathmandu to Doha in both directions on March 17. Similarly, it has announced plans to operate flights from Kathmandu to Doha on March 18.
Regular flight schedules were disrupted for two weeks after Qatar's air routes were temporarily affected. In such a situation, the company has stated that flights are being operated to only a few destinations, using limited flight routes, to continue the travel of passengers.
According to the airline, these flights are not a sign of the full resumption of regular commercial flights, but are special flights operated only to manage the affected passengers. Passengers are also requested not to arrive at the airport without a confirmed ticket.
Qatar Airways has stated that the safety and comfort of passengers is its priority and urged passengers to check flight status via the official website, mobile app or travel agent for more information.
