Following disruptions in the supply of fuel and LPG gas due to geopolitical reasons, the Indian government has directed to increase gas processing and make domestic distribution more effective.

India's Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has directed oil refining companies to increase LPG production and use the excess production for domestic (in-country) use.

The ministry has asked to give priority to LPG supply for domestic use within the country. The ministry has also asked to make arrangements for re-booking only after a gap of 25 days to prevent hoarding and black marketing.

If imported LPG has to be supplied outside the country, the ministry has asked to give priority to essential sectors like hospitals and educational institutions.

The ministry has formed a committee to review the issue of LPG supply to other sectors outside the country. The committee is said to make suggestions regarding LPG supply to sectors including restaurants, hotels and other industries.
