The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which measures stock trading, has been closed for today due to a positive circuit breaker after rising by 6 percent.

The NEPSE index rose by 6 percent within three minutes of the market opening after the election, causing a second circuit break. 

Within a minute of the market opening, the NEPSE rose by 108 points (four percent) and caused the first circuit break. The market then opened 20 minutes later. 

Within a minute of the market opening, the second circuit break also occurred. The market was then suspended for 40 minutes. 

Then, at 12:01 PM, the NEPSE rose by 6 percent (162 points) and caused the third circuit break, which led to the stock market being closed for today. NEPSE has stated that shares worth Rs. 510 million were traded during that period.
