The International Dairy Exhibition (Expo) has started in Bharatpur from Sunday. The expo, inaugurated by Dr. Deepak Kharal, Secretary, Animal Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, will run until Magh 29.

The expo has been jointly organized by the Chitwan District Milk Producers Cooperative Society Limited and the Chitwan Industry Association.

Various items, tools, equipment and technologies related to milk production and the dairy industry have been displayed at the expo. The expo has around 100 stalls from various companies in India and Nepal that manufacture animal feed, medicine, barn management and milk collection, and tools and equipment required for the dairy industry. There are also dairy products like ghee and cheese.

Madan Ghimire, President of the Chitwan Industry Association, informed that after holding a national-level expo last year, this time an international expo was organized with the participation of Indian companies.

He said that the dairy expo will continue next year. Last year too, the expo was held on Magh 25. Chitwan District Milk Producers Cooperative Society President Kishor Bagale said that the expo will play a good role in expanding the milk market. ‘What are our products, what is the quality of the products? "Consumers will be able to get information about that through such an expo," Bagale said. He said that information will also be available about international technologies for milk production, animal care and the dairy industry.

Bagale said that farmers, dairy cooperatives and dairy industrialists can benefit from the exhibition. Consumers will also be able to purchase dairy products.

The expo will also include seminars on the status of animal husbandry and the dairy industry, policy arrangements, emerging challenges and prospects. Bagale informed that various programs will also be held during this period to motivate dairy farmers and cooperatives.
