Nepal Oil Corporation has requested consumers not to stock up on cooking LPG unnecessarily. The corporation's Chief Executive Officer Chandika Prasad Bhatta made the request on social media Facebook on Wednesday.
The corporation has made this request after consumers consumed more due to fear of problems later, as there has been a shortage of cooking gas in the Kathmandu Valley for the past few days. The corporation has stated that there will be no problem with gas and the situation will ease from today.
Chief Executive Officer Bhatta said that there will be no shortage as sufficient LPG gas is being loaded from India. Currently, 85 to 90 bullets carrying LPG gas are arriving daily. This means that 114,000 empty cylinders can be refilled, the corporation has stated.
‘Currently, up to 132 bullets carrying gas are arriving daily,’ he said, ‘Most of them will arrive on Wednesday, so please do not keep gas in stock unnecessarily. To avoid gas shortage even during the elections, an additional 2,000 metric tons of LPG gas is coming now, so there will be no gas shortage.’
