Tourist arrivals to Mustang have doubled this year compared to January of last year. According to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Jomsom under the National Trust for Nature Conservation in Mustang, 10,822 foreign tourists entered Mustang in January 2026.

According to ACAP Chief Rajesh Gupta, 10,045 tourists from SAARC countries and 777 other foreign tourists entered Mustang in January.

Earlier, the tourism statistics of the ACAP Jomsom office mentioned that 4,346 foreign tourists entered Mustang in January 2025. According to ACAP Jomsom office chief Gupta, there was an increase of 6,476 in January 2026 compared to January 2025.

In January 2025, the number of tourists from SAARC countries and 516 from other countries was 3,830. According to ACAP, there was an increase of 6,215 tourists from SAARC countries and 261 tourists from other countries in January 2026 compared to January 2025.

From January to December 2025, 161,142 foreign tourists entered Mustang. Office Chief Gupta said that the arrival of Indian tourists has increased significantly, especially for Muktinath darshan. Chief Gupta said that the number of foreign tourists has started increasing unexpectedly as the Beni-Jomsam road of national pride is becoming easier every year. ACAP estimates that two lakh foreign tourists will enter here in 2026.

Despite the adverse weather conditions of winter in Mustang, tourism entrepreneurs here are excited as the number of tourists has started increasing. Muktinath Hotel Association President Suraj Gurung said that the increase in the arrival of foreign tourists even during the tourist off-season has raised hopes for tourism entrepreneurs here.
