Petroleum products worth over 9.77 billion rupees have been imported through the eastern border checkpoint of Kakarbhitta till mid-December of the current fiscal year 2082/83.
Petroleum products worth Rs 9.77 billion, including petrol, diesel, LP gas, ATF, and kerosene, were imported from here. According to Ishwar Kumar Humagain, Information Officer and Customs Officer of the Mechi Customs Office, there has been an increase in the import of petroleum products by Rs 515.943 billion or 5.60 percent compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year 2081/82. He said that with the increase in imports, the revenue received from petroleum products has increased by 5.70 percent or Rs 254.240 billion. According to the office's data, Rs 4.74 billion, 9.436 billion in revenue has been collected from petroleum product imports in the first six months of the current fiscal year. During that period, 53,152 kiloliters of petrol worth Rs 4.72 billion and 6 million were imported. Similarly, 33,744 kiloliters of diesel worth Rs 3.22 billion and 6.5 million were imported. Similarly, during the six-month period, 12,811 metric tons of LP gas worth 1.24 billion 7 million, 4,112 kiloliters of ATF worth 379.4 million, and 964 kiloliters of kerosene worth 95 million were imported, according to the office's data.
