Nepal Electricity Authority is going to construct a high-capacity transmission line in the Okharpouwa-Tinpiple section.

A preliminary environmental test report has been prepared for the construction of a total 220 kV transmission line.

A new transmission line is being constructed by tapping from Tower No. 37 of the Trishuli 3B Hub Matatirtha Transmission Line Project owned by the Authority. The transmission line will be connected to Tinpiple in Kathmandu. The Authority is constructing a substation in Tinpiple. The transmission line will be constructed up to Dhunibesi in Dhading, Kakani in Nuwakot and Tinpiple in Tarakeshwor in Kathmandu.

The Authority has stated that it is going to study the impact of the transmission line and substation project on the physical and chemical environmental, socio-economic and cultural environment of the affected area while implementing the project. Based on the draft of the preliminary study, the environmental test report is being further enriched based on the necessary suggestions of the stakeholders.

The Authority has scheduled a public hearing in Simkhada village, Dhunibesi Municipality-1. The NEA has stated that a public hearing was held in Kot village of Tarakeswar Municipality on Monday. The NEA has clarified that the issues raised during the public hearing will be included in the preliminary environmental assessment report.
