Prioritizing India as a key source market, the Nepal Tourism Board has engaged in direct dialogue with key stakeholders in India's travel, corporate, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sectors.
The Board effectively showcased Nepal's corporate, incentive, conference and wedding tourism potential by participating as a focus partner in the MTM and LLTM 2026 held at the Pullman New Delhi Aerocity on January 8-9. The organizers stated that the event held on January 9 was an effective decision-focused and targeted networking platform. The event saw significant participation from selected corporate buyers, prestigious brands and senior leadership, where the changing priorities of the tourism and MICE sectors were discussed in depth through purposeful dialogue and future-oriented discussions, the Board stated. The main attraction of the event was the one-on-one meeting between buyers and sellers under the 'Reverse Marketplace' concept. Through this, the Nepal Tourism Board stated that it has established direct contact with Indian corporate and MICE decision-makers, expanded business collaboration and strengthened trust in the destination.
The destination presentation presented by the Nepal Tourism Board targeted India and promoted Nepal as an attractive destination for incentive travel, conference, experiential travel and festival-focused travel. Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of the board, said that such strategic engagements will contribute significantly to long-term tourism growth as India is a major tourist source market for Nepal.
The ‘MTM Star Awards for Wedding Planners’ organized on the second day of the program honored the best planning and implementation organizations in India’s wedding and celebration economy. On this occasion, Nepal has expressed its strong presence in wedding and destination celebration tourism and has committed to expanding this sector in the future.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board, tourism cooperation with India will continue to strengthen through targeted international platforms such as MTM and LLTM 2026. Additionally, the board has stated that such programs will play an important role in establishing Nepal as an emerging destination for corporate, MICE and wedding tourism.
