The Rajapur Sugar Mill, built in Bardiya with a huge investment, has started production on Tuesday. Although it was said that sugar production would start from the last week of Mangsir, production started on Poush 22 due to technical reasons.

 Shri Krishna Mahato, General Manager of Sugar and Chemicals Industries Pvt. Ltd., which produces 250 quintals of sugar daily, said.

Rajapur Sugar and Chemicals Industries Pvt. Ltd. has set a target of producing 330,000 tons of sugar annually. The sugar produced will reach Lumbini, Karnali and other provinces. 

A sugar mill has come into operation in Badalpur, Rajapur Municipality-5, Bardiya with an investment of about Rs 2.5 billion. Mahato, General Manager of Sugar and Chemicals Industries Pvt. Ltd., said that 550 people have currently been employed in the sugar mill. 

The sugar mill has come into operation on an area of ​​more than 21 bighas. The sugar mill has stated that farmers have started cultivating sugarcane on an area of ​​about 2,500 bighas in this rice-producing region. Apart from this, sugarcane will be purchased here from Kailali district. General Manager Mahato said that he has been providing subsidies to farmers to plant sugarcane for the sugar mill.
