The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which measures share trading, closed with a double-digit decline on Sunday, the first day of weekly trading. The NEPSE fell by 10.29 points on that day.

Of the 13 sub-groups traded on Sunday, the share prices of 79 companies increased, the prices of 171 companies decreased and the prices of 9 companies remained unchanged. The overall NEPSE has fallen by double digits as the number of companies whose share prices fell was less than those whose share prices rose on that day.
A total of 12,74,126 shares were traded on that day in 79,702 share transactions. A turnover of Rs 5.1 billion 17.5 million was recorded in those transactions. The trading amount has increased compared to the previous day. Last Thursday, shares worth Rs 4.71 billion 39 million were traded in the stock market.
Of the 13 sub-groups traded on that day, the index of the hotel and tourism, production and processing and trade sub-groups increased. The overall NEPSE has fallen by double digits after the indices of all the others decreased.
