The Ministry of Finance has approved a resource allocation of Rs 2.19 billion for the repair and reconstruction of roads in Ilam that were damaged due to heavy rains on 18 and 19 Asoj.

The largest amount, Rs 1.5 billion, has been provided as a source agreement for the reconstruction of the Mechi Highway. A source assurance of Rs 20 crore has been provided for the Mai Khola Motorway Permanent Bridge Rajduwali along the Mechi Highway, Rs 25 crore for the Mai Khola Motorway Permanent Bridge Belase on the Mechi Corridor, Rs 5 crore each for the construction of Bailey Bridges on the Puwakhola and Jogmai Khola Bridges, and Rs 14 crore for the Mechi Corridor, which is an alternative road to the Mechi Highway.
Of this, Rs 25 crore has been released for the Mechi Highway, Rs 5 crore and Rs 10 crore for the Mai Khola Rajduwali and Mai Khola Bridge Belase, respectively, and Rs 4 crore for the Mechi Corridor in the current fiscal year. The entire amount required for the two Bailey Bridges has been released.
