Everest Alliance Nepal has officially announced the organization of the Everest Summiteers Summit-2026. At a press conference held in Kathmandu on Sunday, it was informed that the summit will be held in Kathmandu on May 27, 2026.

The main theme of the summit is ‘Himalayan Innovation for a Sustainable Future’.

The summit is being organized on the occasion of International Everest Day, which commemorates the historic achievement of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary, who were the first to successfully climb Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak.

The first Everest Summiteers Summit, organized in 2025, was concluded with the slogan ‘Honoring the Veterans, Inspiring the Future’. The summit was considered a significant achievement in the history of mountaineering in Nepal. The first edition brought together Everest climbers, government agencies, international mountaineering organizations, conservation experts, tourism professionals and media personnel from Nepal and around the world on one platform, strengthening meaningful policy-level discussions and international cooperation.

The second edition of the summit will bring together Everest summiteers from Nepal and around the world, as well as policymakers, mountaineering organizations, environmentalists, tourism experts, researchers and international partners. The summit will provide a platform for high-level international dialogue on issues such as mountaineering heritage, climber safety, climate change, sustainable tourism and the future of mountaineering, according to the organizers.

The one-day summit will feature keynote addresses, expert panel discussions and policy dialogues. The discussions will focus on complex challenges such as the problem of melting glaciers in the Himalayan region, waste management, climber welfare, expedition safety and policy reforms. It will also highlight the need for collective responsibility to protect Everest as a shared world heritage site.

Everest Alliance Nepal aims to develop the Summit 2026 not only as a commemoration, but also as a program oriented towards honoring Everest climbers, preserving their experiences, promoting international cooperation and promoting community-friendly and ethical mountain tourism.

On this occasion, Everest Alliance Nepal has also announced that it has started the formal registration process for the Everest Summiteers Summit 2026. Individuals and organizations interested in participating in the program, including Everest climbers from around the world, have been invited to register.

Everest Alliance Nepal is a national common platform for Everest climbers and experts in the mountain sector. The organization has been working to preserve the heritage of mountaineering, climber safety, environmental sustainability, ethical mountaineering practices and strengthen Nepal's leadership in global mountaineering and mountain conservation.
