The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which measures stock trading, closed marginally higher on Wednesday, but trading volume declined. The index rose 1.37 points compared to the previous day.

The overall NEPSE rose by 0.05 percent on Wednesday compared to Tuesday, reaching 2,585.87 points.

Thursday is a public holiday, so today is the last trading day of the week. This week, there were four days of stock trading, with the previous two days declining and the last two days increasing.

Out of the companies traded on Wednesday, 111 increased their share prices, 142 decreased their share prices, and 7 remained stable.

The overall NEPSE turned positive by a small number of points as more companies saw their share prices decline than those that increased. This means that the share prices of some companies have increased at a high rate.

On Wednesday, 7,224,917 shares were traded in 62,768 transactions. Shares worth Rs 3.22 billion were traded in those transactions.

The trading amount compared to the previous day decreased. Shares worth Rs 3.42 billion were traded on Tuesday.

Of the 13 subgroups that traded that day, the indices of banking, hotels and tourism, manufacturing and tourism, mutual funds, non-life insurance and trade increased. The indices of the remaining subgroups decreased.
