Goods worth Rs 766.18 billion have been imported between Shrawan and Mangsir of the current fiscal year. According to the monthly report released by the Customs Department, imports have increased by 15.83 percent.

Exports have also increased by 58.17 percent in the five months of the current fiscal year. According to the department, goods worth Rs 116.5 billion have been exported to various countries.

The department has data that the foreign trade deficit has also increased with the increase in imports. The department has stated that there was a trade deficit of Rs 649.68 billion in the five months. As Nepal imports more goods than it exports, the trade deficit is increasing every month. The trade deficit was 1.52 percent in the five months of the last fiscal year.
