The price of gold had fallen to Rs 260,400 on Poush 3. The price of gold fell to Rs 258,400 on Friday, the last day of the week, according to the Federation.

The price of gold and silver has increased due to increased demand as the new year approaches, said Kiranbhai Bajracharya, General Secretary of the Federation. The price of silver has also set a new record. The price of silver had reached Rs 4,080 on Poush 3. Which is the highest price so far.

Analysts say that the price has increased due to the continued attraction towards gold and silver in the international market due to factors such as US inflation being much lower than expected, the US central bank indicating another cut in interest rates from January to control inflation caused by taxes, and the continued geopolitical tensions.
