Chandra Prasad Dhakal, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, has said that serious concerns have arisen over whether those who have recently attacked the private sector will not be held accountable due to the agreement between the government and Gen Z.
Speaking at a program organized by Gorkhapatra Sansthan on Wednesday, Dhakal said that the agreement reached between the Gen-G group and the government some time ago has raised concerns in the private sector that those who commit vandalism, arson and looting will not be prosecuted. He said that those who commit vandalism and arson must be brought to justice, adding that the morale of the private sector cannot be boosted until that happens. He said, 'As long as there is no confidence in investing in the private sector, employment creation and revenue cannot increase.'
He said that the contribution of the private sector to Nepal is not met with anything other than negative comments from the general public, and that the general public should be made aware of the private sector.
He said that the private sector should be given the message that it is an employer, a revenue-paying sector, and that it is a sector that builds infrastructure and provides services to the general public. He said, 'As long as we cannot give this message, the private sector will continue to be targeted in every movement.'
