Nearly 700 billion remittances received in 4 months

In the first four months of the current fiscal year (Shrawan-Kartik), remittances worth Rs. 687.13 billion have entered the country.

The remittances received this year are 31.4 percent higher than the first four months of the last fiscal year. In the same period last year, remittance inflow had increased by 9.4 percent.

According to the data of the National Bank, 133.82 billion rupees have been received in the month of Kartik 082 alone. 114.31 billion rupees were received in Kartik of the last fiscal year. 'In the last four months, remittance inflow in US dollars has increased by 25.3 percent to 4.88 billion rupees,' the monthly report of the National Bank for the last four months states, 'Last year, such inflow had increased by 8.2 percent.'

The increase in remittance inflow is due to the increase in the number of Nepalis obtaining final labor permits (institutional and individual-new) for foreign employment in the last four months. According to which, 145,973 people obtained final labor permits for foreign employment in the four months. The number of those who received re-labor permits during the same period is 127,837.

In the first four months of the last fiscal year, 147,478 people received final work permits for foreign employment and 94,105 people received re-work permits.
