In some places, large holes have been dug in the road to create a curve, while in others, slope work is underway.

Despite efforts to make it easier by pouring water, the locals, including passengers and drivers, have been facing health problems for a long time.

Even after seven years of the expansion of the Narayangadh-Butwal road, the suffering of the Daunne section has not gone away. Passengers and drivers are forced to suffer daily on the 14-kilometer section.

Although the blacktop has been completed in many places, the problem of traffic jams is more in the Daunne section. Passengers are forced to suffer additional traffic jams when goods vehicles overturn on the narrow road that was demolished.

The construction of the Arun Khola and Girbari bridges has not been completed yet. Due to this, traffic jams occur on the old narrow bridges. Some sections of the Arun Khola and Danda Bazaar have not yet been blacktopped. Preparations for blacktopping are finally underway in some sections of the Narayangadh-Butwal road.

The project has stated that 82.466 km of the 113 km of roads that have been expanded have been blacktopped with four lanes and 19.34 km of two lanes. 58 of the 64 bridges and 456 of the 468 culverts on the road section have been constructed. Although there were problems in the initial days, now there will be no problems on the road in the coming monsoon as much work has been done, says Chudaraj Dhakal, project chief of the Project Directorate (ADB). 'Initially, there were many problems on this road, passengers and drivers had to suffer a lot,' he said, 'Now there is a problem only in Daunne.'

According to him, the construction contractors have been asked to complete the work in Daunne section within three months.  Narayangadh-Butwal Road Project, West Section Chief Pashupati Gyawali claimed that there are no problems like before. ‘There is still a problem with the road, but it is not like before,’ he said, ‘It is difficult to work because it is a narrow section, and there is more traffic jam due to freight vehicles.’

Freight vehicles often overturn on the hill, so it is difficult to remove them immediately. ‘A three-lane road will be built on this section, but there is a problem because it is narrow,’ Gyawali said.
