Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising has said that the project has become ailing not only due to the contractor's failure to make decisions but also due to the employees' inaction.

Ghising said this at a dialogue program with stakeholders on ‘Sick Contract Management’ organized by the Nepal Infrastructure Journalists Society in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

‘The projects have become sick not only on the part of the contractor but also because of the employees,’ he said. ‘They have become sick even when the project head or employees do not take decisions. Employees should not be shirked from the decision-making process.’

Ghising said that everyone is to blame for the projects becoming sick. ‘We are all to blame. We have all worked in our own fields or not,’ he said.

He said that contractor summits should be held to increase capacity. ‘Big contractors give to others.’ And if there is no work, they do it themselves in the end,’ he said. ‘That is why the capacity of contractors should be increased.’
