Hitendra Dev Shakya has said that he received relief after the Supreme Court reinstated him as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority after his house was burned down.
Shakya also said that he would go to the authority to seek reinstatement as soon as he received the copy of the court decision. 'This is my old case that has been under hearing for four years,' he said. 'This time, the case has been heard after 4 years despite being scheduled for hearing 31/32 times.'
Shakya said that he got justice despite being late. 'This time, my house was burned during the Gen-G protest. I am not the person whose house should be burned,' he said. 'The court's decision has provided justice at a time when I was in such a state of distress. It has given me a foothold.'
He recalled that after the house was burned, I lost my job and was homeless. In this context, Shakya said that he felt a little relief from the court's reinstatement order.
'I go to the NEA only as per the court's decision, I always go to vacant positions,' he said, 'I did not go to seek revenge. I went to court earlier because I was removed. This time too, I went to court because I was removed. Is it wrong to go to court to seek justice after being removed?'
On the proposal of Energy Minister Kulman Ghising, the cabinet meeting held on Asoj 5 decided to remove Shakya from the post of Executive Director of NEA and transfer him to the Water and Energy Commission.
