The NEPSE index fell by 44.86 points last week. The NEPSE index, a measure of stock trading, fell by 1.68 percent to 2,631.17 points. During this period, the share prices of 64 companies increased and 193 decreased.

With four days of trading in the week, NEPSE fell on all days. NEPSE fell by 26.51 points on Sunday, 4.28 on Monday, 0.53 on Tuesday, 13.52 points on Wednesday, while shares were not traded on Thursday due to a public holiday. Last week, 42.98 million shares worth 21.26 billion rupees were traded. NP Stocks reported that all subgroups except finance and manufacturing and processing decreased during the period. Finance companies increased by 1.95 percent and manufacturing and processing by 1.82 percent. 

The index of the trade subgroup decreased by 0.20 percent, hotels and tourism by 0.45 percent, hydropower by 0.89 percent, non-life insurance by 1.17 percent, development banks by 1.23 percent, microfinance by 1.25 percent, others by 1.73 percent, investment by 2.76 percent, banking by 3.07 percent and life insurance by 3.44 percent. 

Investors in Sagar Distillery, Jhapa Energy, Swastik Laghubitta, Srinagar Agritech, Him Star Urja Company, Bungal Hydro Limited, Mabilung Energy Limited, Narayani Bikas Bank, Guheshwari Merchant Bank and Finance and Manakamana Engineering Hydropower increased their share prices.

Investors in Joshi Hydropower, Himal Dolakha Hydropower, Mandakini Hydropower, Himalayan Hydropower, Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance, Prabhu Bank, Unnati Sahabat Laghubitta, NRN Infrastructure and Development, Dolti Power and Oriental Hotels lost their share prices.

Based on the transaction amount, Himalayan Reinsurance, United Modi Hydropower, Ngadi Group Power, Mountain Energy Nepal, Bandipur Cablecar and Tourism, Union Hydropower, Green Ventures, NRN Infrastructure and Development, Nepal Reinsurance and Joshi Hydropower were ahead. 

Shares worth Rs 669.1 million were bought and sold by Himalayan Reinsurance, Rs 571.1 million by United Modi Hydropower, Rs 551.1 million by Ngadi Group Power, Rs 526.2 million by Mountain Energy Nepal, Rs 491.1 million by Bandipur Cablecar and Tourism, Rs 465.3 million by Union Hydropower, Rs 434.6 million by Green Ventures, Rs 414.3 million by NRN Infrastructure and Development, Rs 374.4 million by Nepal Reinsurance and Rs 367.6 million by Joshi Hydropower. After the double-digit decline in the NEPSE over the past week, the size of the stock market (total market capitalization) has decreased by 75.31 billion 7.9 million rupees.
