The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which measures share trading, closed slightly negative on Tuesday. The overall NEPSE index fell to 2,644.70 points, down 0.53 points from the previous day.
The NEPSE has been continuously declining for the last three days, including today's decline. Accordingly, the NEPSE fell by 26.51 points on Sunday, 4.28 points on Monday, and 0.53 points on Tuesday.
Out of the 13 companies that were traded on that day, the share prices of 125 companies increased, the prices of 119 companies decreased, and the prices of 13 companies remained unchanged. Thus, although fewer companies saw their share prices decrease than increase, the overall NEPSE closed in a negative position with a slight point.
A total of 1810,106 shares were traded on Tuesday in 56,09 share transactions. Shares worth 4.48 billion 13 million rupees were traded in those transactions.
The trading amount decreased compared to the previous day. Shares worth 4.71 billion 63 million rupees were traded on Monday.
Of the 13 subgroups that were traded on that day, the indices of banking, hotels and tourism, investment, life insurance, and microfinance decreased. However, the indices of the remaining subgroups were positive by a modest point, according to NEPSE.
