Cooperative victims are continuously demonstrating demanding their savings be returned. Since November 5, victims have been demonstrating in front of the troubled cooperative management office in Buddhanagar.
They continued their protest on Monday as well. They have taken up the protest demanding that the savings deposited in the cooperative be returned and action be taken against those who embezzled the money.
Rajkumar Dhakal, a victim of Pashupati cooperative in Banepa who participated in the protest, said that his 1.8 million rupees have sunk. He complains that he has not received the money he deposited to educate his children. He says that the cooperative has been closed for 3 years. He said that in the 3 years since the owner absconded, they protested for 108 days in Ratna Park and 63 days in Tinkune.
The participants in the protest carried placards with slogans such as; Give justice to the cooperative victims, the government is responsible for returning all the savings of the savers, let's build a corruption-free Nepal, the government should take responsibility for returning the savings of all the victims, will the government take action against the employees who broker under the cover of political appointments when the government is in trouble?;
