An MoU has been signed with 114 municipalities for the inclusion of workers in the Social Security Fund. Kabiraj Adhikari, executive director of the fund, said that some municipalities have already started collecting contributions.

The Social Security Fund has invested Rs 126 billion. The Executive Director of the Social Security Fund, Adhikari, said that the Social Security Fund has invested Rs 126 billion in various places, including Rs 95 billion collected from contributors to the fund. 

Speaking on the occasion of the 8th Social Security Fund Day, he said that investments have been made in various bonds, starting from fixed-term accounts, as per the investment procedure. According to the Executive Director, Rs 58.89 billion has been invested in various bank bonds, while Rs 32.19 billion has been invested in treasury bills, Rs 21.76 billion in development bonds, Rs 4.52 billion in debentures, and Rs 1.95 billion in mutual funds.

Similarly, the fund has invested Rs 7.79 billion 8.3 million in loans to 20,000 contributors. Under the contributor loan, the fund provides special loans at an annual interest rate of 5.2 percent, while housing and educational loans are provided at an interest rate of 5.86 percent.
