It is reported that 85.4 million rupees have been collected so far in the fund established for the reconstruction, economic revival, relief and rehabilitation of physical infrastructure damaged during the 24 Bhadra protests. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has stated that the amount was collected from various commercial establishments and organizations.
Meanwhile, the Construction Business Development Council has deposited Rs 10 million in the fund. The amount was deposited in the Physical Reconstruction Fund on Wednesday from the Construction Business Fund under the council.
Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising, who is also the chairman of the council, handed over the check to Secretary of the Ministry of Urban Development Gopal Prasad Sigdel.
A Physical Reconstruction Committee was formed with the Finance Minister as the chairman to make the reconstruction of public and government physical structures damaged by the protests systematic and effective. The committee meeting held a few days ago will spend the amount deposited in the fund to prepare a detailed engineering design of the damaged public structures and prepare a reconstruction report, immediately repair and operate public structures, and for economic revival, relief and rehabilitation programs.
