The organizing committee has made a profit of Rs 294,000 from the Virat Gold Cup Football Tournament-2081. The amount was made from the ninth edition of the tournament organized by the Virat Gold Cup Football Trust, Biratnagar, informed Navin Rijal, coordinator of the organizing committee, through a press conference on Thursday.
The tournament held at the Shahid Stadium in Biratnagar from Falgun 19 to 28 last year generated an income of Rs 1.7 million. Out of that income, Rs 1.4 million was spent, Rijal said, resulting in a profit of Rs 294,000.
He added Rs 100,000 from his personal account to the profit, handing over the total amount of Rs 400,000 to the chairman of the Birat Gold Cup Football Trust, Kishor Bahadur Shahi.
