The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which measures stock market activity, fell by 20.56 points on Wednesday. The NEPSE, which had been falling continuously for the previous three trading days, had closed at 2,565.16 points up by 3.21 points on Tuesday. But that increase did not last until Wednesday.

A total of 8,444,616 shares were traded on Wednesday in 66,824 share transactions. Shares worth Rs 3.84 billion were traded in those transactions. The transaction amount increased slightly compared to the previous day. Shares worth Rs 3.62 billion were traded on Tuesday.
The overall NEPSE fell by double digits after all indices, except for production and processing, declined among the 13 subgroups traded on Wednesday. The share prices of Sagar Distillery, Bungal Hydro, and Bandipur Cable Car, which were listed for only a few days, increased by 10 percent on Wednesday. A circuit breaker was installed to control trading after the share price increased by 10 percent. The share price of Bhool Hydropower Company increased by 9.98 percent on that day.
