Four five-star hotels have been opened in Rupandehi with an investment of over Rs 12 billion. The most recent hotel, Hyatt Place, opened in Butwal with an investment of Rs 3.5 billion. With this, the number of five-star hotels in the district has reached four.

Investment has also increased with the addition of quality hotels in the tourist areas of the district. For the first time, a five-star hotel, Hyatt Place, has come into operation in Butwal, the commercial center of western Nepal. A 10-story quality hotel has come into operation in Kusum Path, Butwal Sub-metropolitan City-8.

The hotel, located near the highway intersection in Butwal, has 109 rooms with a capacity of 250 people in 6 categories. With the construction of this hotel, Rupandehi's business family Yashoda Group has entered the hospitality sector. Its directors include industrialists Chunna Prasad Poudel, Kamal Kishore Malpani, Narishwar Sharma Poudel, Bhumiraj Poudel, Shravan Beriwal and Rekha Malpani. The chairman of the board of directors, Chunna Prasad Poudel, informed that Banijya Bank has 65 and 35 percent personal investment in it.

The hotel is spread over an area of ​​25 katta. There are separate spaces for guests to work, relax and entertain. In addition, the hotel's architecture combines peace, modernity and tradition. Inside the hotel, there are designs that reflect the shape of the leaves of the Bodhi tree, the brick structure of the Mayadevi Temple, and four special pillars that reflect the four noble truths of Buddhist philosophy. The five-star Hotel Pawan Palace in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, is about to come into operation with new management after being sold. Bhairahawa-based confectioner Pawan Haluwai had launched Hotel Pawan Palace with an investment of Rs 2.5 billion. Last year, Haluwai sold the hotel and renamed it Lumbini Heritage. After operating it under the name Lumbini Heritage for some time, an international group has entered into its management. An agreement was signed last month between international hospitality group IHG Hotels & Resorts and Lumbini Heritage Limited to revive and operate the hotel systematically.

Lumbini Heritage Chairman Subhash Amatya and IHG's Managing Director for Southwest Asia Sudeep Jain signed the agreement for the new management. Operated under the name Nepal Crowne Plaza, this hotel has 147 rooms. Seven of them are suites. It has facilities including a spacious restaurant, swimming pool, fitness center, and more. The company plans to launch the casino within 8 months after taking over the management. The company has also stated that it is preparing to issue an IPO within 2026.

Siddhartha Business Group of Hospitality is operating Siddhartha Villasa Hotel in Bhairahawa, the district headquarters, with an investment of Rs 2.5 billion. This hotel, located about four kilometers from the district's main Belahiya checkpoint, is located in Anchalpur along the Butwal-Bhairahawa trade route. Tiger Palace Resort, which came into operation 8 years ago with a foreign investment of five billion rupees, is the first five-star hotel in Lumbini Province. The resort, which is operating in Tilottama-15, also has a casino.
