The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), which had been declining continuously for the previous three trading days, saw a modest improvement on Tuesday. The NEPSE rose to 2,565.16 points with an improvement of 3.21 points on Tuesday. This is an improvement of 0.12 percent compared to the previous day.
Of the companies traded on that day, 142 increased their share prices, 102 decreased their share prices, and 10 remained stable. As a result, the overall NEPSE saw a general improvement as fewer companies saw their share prices decline than increase. A total of 7,947,058 shares were traded in 55,632 share transactions on that day.
Shares worth Rs 3.62 billion 61 million were traded in those transactions. The transaction amount also decreased compared to the previous day. Shares worth Rs 4.51 billion 44 million were traded on Monday. Of the 13 subgroups traded on Tuesday, the indices of development banks, finance companies, hotels and tourism, investment, microfinance and others decreased. According to NEPSE, the indices of all the remaining subgroups increased.
On that day, the banking subgroup index increased by 0.07, hydropower by 0.77, life insurance by 0.57, manufacturing and processing by 0.33, mutual fund by 0.24, non-life insurance by 0.50 and trade by 0.69 percent. However, the development bank subgroup index decreased by 0.47, finance company by 0.61, hotel and tourism by 0.38, investment by 0.29, microfinance by 0.05 and others by 0.67 percent.
Despite the general increase in NEPSE, the size of the stock market has expanded by Rs 5 billion in a single day. The total market capitalization, which was Rs 4.291 billion on Monday, has remained at Rs 4.296 billion on Tuesday. Sahas Urja Limited is at the top in terms of trading volume on Tuesday. Shares of this company worth Rs 355.8 million were traded.
On Tuesday, the bond prices of Sign Resunga Bikas Bank and the share prices of Bandipur Cable Car increased by the most, by 10 percent. After the share prices of these companies increased by 10 percent, a circuit breaker was installed to control trading. Bandipur Cable Car was recently listed. Along with this, the share prices of Mabilung Energy, Sagar Distillery, and Bungal Hydropower also increased by around 10 percent. On that day, the bond prices of Nepal SBI Bank decreased by the most, by 9.39 percent.
