The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which measures stock market activity, fell by 20.56 points on Wednesday. The NEPSE, which had been falling for the previous three trading days, had closed at 2,565.16 points up 3.21 points on Tuesday. But that increase did not last until Wednesday.

Of the companies traded on that day, 49 increased their share prices, 158 decreased their prices, and 7 remained stable. As more companies lost their shares than gained, the overall NEPSE fell by double digits.

A total of 8,444,616 shares were traded on Wednesday in 66,824 share transactions. Shares worth Rs 3.84 billion were traded in those transactions.

The trading amount increased slightly compared to the previous day. Shares worth Rs 3.62 billion were traded on Tuesday.

Out of the 13 sub-groups traded on Wednesday, all indices except manufacturing and processing declined, leading to a double-digit decline in the overall NEPSE.
