He had called a meeting of the board of directors at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday. Although many issues were discussed regarding the protest, the meeting ended without any decision. Chairman Shrestha said that he was still at the ministry on Wednesday and discussions were underway on how to resolve the problem.
The employees of the Securities and Exchange Board of Nepal (SEB) are on strike for the 44th day today, saying that the Ministry of Finance has cut the services and facilities they have been enjoying. The employees had started the protest on Asoj 7. Since then, no work has been done at the SEB.
Despite the protest, the employees had allowed the chairman and directors to enter the office until last week. The employees have been blocking the office since last Sunday, demanding the chairman's resignation, saying that he has not played any role in resolving the problem.
