Out of the 2.5 million old licenses, 1.2 million licenses will be printed by the Security Printing Center. For this, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Rajiv Pokharel, Director General of the Department of Transport Management, and Devraj Dhungana, Executive Director of the Center, on Wednesday.
As per the agreement, the center will print and distribute 1.2 million licenses in 3 to 6 months. The Department of Transport has yet to print more than 2.5 million old licenses.
It has been agreed that the center will print 500 licenses daily and immediately issue them to those who need licenses immediately, including those going for foreign employment. After that, the department has stated that it will develop its own system to distribute licenses.
Keshav Khatiwada, Director of the Department of Transport Management, informed that the budget will be managed for printing additional licenses. According to him, 1.2 million licenses will be printed and distributed in 3 to 6 months. The remaining licenses will be printed and distributed by the Security Printing Center after managing the budget.
