The NEA had put the heads of distribution centers and technical staff across the country on standby to prevent power disruptions on the day of Lakshmi Puja.
Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Kulman Ghising visited the control room of the Nepal Electricity Authority's load dispatch center in Syuchatar on Monday evening to obtain information about electricity demand and supply management on the day of Laxmi Puja.
A team comprising Secretary of the Ministry of Energy Chiranjivi Chataut, Chairman of the Electricity Regulatory Commission Ram Prasad Dhital, Joint Secretaries of the Ministry, Director General of the Department of Electricity Development, Executive Director of the NEA Manoj Silwal, Deputy Executive Director and others had taken information about the electricity and supply situation.
Like last year, the NEA has succeeded in supplying electricity to the entire country on the day of Laxmi Puja without any interruption. The NEA had kept the heads of distribution centers and power plants across the country and their technical staff on standby to prevent any power interruption on the day of Laxmi Puja.
A team led by Ghising, who was appointed as the Executive Director in Bhadau 2073 BS, had managed the electricity demand and supply and started the end of load shedding from the Kathmandu Valley on the day of Laxmi Puja of the same year as a trial.
