Nepse rises by 16.67 points ahead of Tihar

The Nepse index, a gauge of stock market activity, rose by 16.67 points on the last trading day before Tihar. After rising by 0.67 percent, the Nepse index settled at 2503.85 points on Sunday.

Even though the NEPSE index increased, the trading amount decreased. A turnover of Rs 2.79 billion was recorded on Sunday. Shares worth Rs 3.27 billion were traded last Thursday.

While the value of a total of 163 companies increased, 78 companies decreased. A total of 8 remained stable. Except for development banks, mutual funds and non-life insurance, all subgroups increased.

Banking increased by 0.87, finance by 0.51, hotel and tourism by 0.72, hydropower by 0.70, investment by 0.75, life insurance by 0.33 percent.

The circuit break occurred after the share price of Atmanirbhar Laghubitta increased by 10 percent. Himalayan Power Partner's price increased by 9.89, Bhagwati Hydropower's by 9.88, Asian Hydropower's by 7.80 and Abhiyan Laghubitta's by 6.01 percent.
