Business worth Rs 13.3 million at Godavari Flower Fair

The 18th Godavari Flower Competition Exhibition 2082, which was held at Jawalakhel Ground in Lalitpur, ended on Sunday. The exhibition, which began on Asoj 29 and was organized by the Floriculture Association Nepal (FAN), was visited by more than 39,000 people and a turnover of over Rs 13.3 million was reported.

The last day of the fair, Sunday, saw a turnover of Rs 2.85 million, said the fair's coordinator Suman Maharjan. Stating that the fair saw a high turnover of seasonal flowers and plants, especially Godavari, Sayapatri, and other flowers, FAN President Rajesh Bhakta Shrestha said that the number of flower connoisseurs is increasing. The businessmen have experienced that the annual fair has further strengthened the relationship between businessmen and consumers, and the number of consumers in farms and shops has increased.

FAN Senior Vice President Ram Bahadur Tamang said that they are excited because the number of visitors has increased despite the economic slowdown and the volatile political situation. He claims that the visitors are also satisfied because the fair's venue is wider and more organized than last year.

The fair had a total of 90 exhibition halls, including 80 commercial stalls, 1 plant clinic stall, 5 official stalls, 2 competition stalls, and 2 photo selfie stalls. Like last year, this year too, there was a competition in 4 categories of Godavari flowers (miniature, reflex, spider and incurve).

The awardees at the exhibition were Samjhana Nursery in first place, Mai Nursery in second place and Azima Nursery in third place.  Similarly, under the best category, Mai Nursery in best reflex, Samjhana Nursery in best miniature, Azima Nursery in best incurve, Samjhana Nursery in best maintenance, Navsewa Nursery in best cut flower and Diksha Nursery in best stall received the best awards.
