The Insurance Authority has stated that the amount of damages caused by the floods during that period has so far been around Rs 3.2676 billion.
Insurance claims worth around 3.25 billion rupees have been filed so far due to physical and other damages caused by the incessant rains, floods and landslides that have occurred since October 18.
The Insurance Authority has stated that the total amount of damages caused by the floods during the said period is around 3.26 billion 7.6 billion. The Authority has stated that it has received information from the non-life insurance companies that out of a total of 704 insurance claims filed with 13 different non-life insurance companies and 2 small non-life insurance companies, around 3.26 billion 7.6 billion claims have been filed. The Authority has stated that the largest number of claims filed are in property insurance, 364. According to the Authority, there are 209 claims in agriculture and crop insurance, 87 in engineering and contractor insurance, 33 in private motor insurance, 9 in government motor insurance and 704 claims have been filed.
